“Music is the space between the notes.” - Claude Debussy

Music is a journey that takes us through treasured memories and the unknown. The sequencing of songs, intertwining of stories, and how they relate to the overall being of life; is where you’ll find this story.

Growing up working in the family music shop in St. Louis, Brer Sunshine found his first love in the liner notes of old records. Moving on from his hometown, he found himself diving into environments responsible for housing the music he grew to love, most importantly, Jimi Hendrix’s famed Electric Lady Studios located in the heart of Greenwich Village, NYC.

Over the past decade, the flavor and taste of his music selections has been woven into the musical fabric of Nashville, TN. It’s in this diverse musical landscape where Sunshine has been blending a mix of hip-hop, funk, jazz, world, house, rock, and anything that fits in-between.

In 2016 Sunshine began hosting The Black Gold Historical Society, a music history study on Nashville’s very own 101.5 WXNA FM. Since then he has traversed the globe, searching for more stories in those liner notes of long lost, (and yes, dusty) vinyl records, with the hopes to share these experiences and learn more about the world and people around us.

Sunshine’s had the pleasure of performing at local Nashville party staples, including Funky Good Time and The Boom Bap, corporate events, and opening for various shows around the nation.

Each project is it’s own journey taking the listener to places outside of time and space. The ultimate goal, as art is to imitate life, Sunshine aims to uplift spirits and speak to the human condition through the music we all love.
